The Eternal Guru
Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji
ਸਭ ਸਿੱਖਨ ਕੋ ਹੁਕਮ ਹੈ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਾਨਯੋ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ।
Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, a beacon of spiritual light for all humanity, was compiled by the fifth Guru, Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji, between 1600 and 1604 in Sri Amritsar, with Bhai Gurdas Ji serving as scribe.
It brings together the hymns of six Gurus with the insights of 15 Bhagats and 11 Bhatts. It was first installed at Sri Harimandar Sahib on 16 August 1604, with Baba Buddha Ji appointed as the first Granthi.
